St Mary's Catholic Primary School - Ysgol Gynradd Gatholig y Santes Fair

Senedd

Our Senedd is made up of six Pupil Influence Groups. Each Pupil Influence Group contributes to a different aspect of school life at St Mary's. The groups contain representatives from each year group and they are led by our Year 6 children and assisted by teachers.

The groups meet during Amser Senedd once a month.

The Criw Cymraeg promote the use of Welsh in school. Every week, members of the Criw Cymraeg speak at assembly and encourage us to use our Cymraeg yr Wythnos. Members of our Criw Cymraeg also listen out for and celebrate the use of Welsh around school.

Our digital leaders work to educate the rest of the school about online safety and the use of digital technology in and out of school. They can be found helping others with computer or iPad issues and the advise us on how to stay safe.

The Eco Council work together to come up with ideas for how all of our school community can be more environmentally friendly. They represent the views of their classmates in discussions about how to make positive environmental changes around school.

The Healthy Schools Council promotes healthy lifestyles within school. They teach and remind us of ways to live healthily and they help lead our Healthy Living Week in May. Members of our Healthy Schools Council help us look after our health and wellbeing and they talk to our cooks about how to improve our school meals.

Mini Vinnies is the youth section of the St Vincent de Paul Society. They head our charity work, undertake voluntary work and develop faith and spirituality through serving others.

Our school council is made up of representatives from each class. They meet to discuss, overview and analyse various school issues and project ideas and to come up with practical solutions for improvement of pupils’ education and opportunities.
